PMB many foreign trips are to correct Nigeria’s “Pariah Status” under Jonathan says Lai Mohammed

Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, says the many foreign trips President Buhari, has  taken since he came into office in May 2015, is to correct Nigeria's "Pariah status" under Former President Jonathan's administration.

Lai Mohammed said before the Buhari government, numerous investors feared coming into Nigeria to invest because of Terrorism and Corruption. Lai Mohammed said this while talking to state house correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting yesterday February 17th, 2016.

"The personal presence of Mr President in many of these fora is so important and crucial because before now we were almost a pariah state and the two things that have been driving investment away from the country have simply been terrorism and corruption. One thing that nobody can fault this President on is his determination and sense of purpose in fighting this twin-evil. Before now the level of corruption was very high that nobody was ready to risk his investment in Nigeria. The cost of doing business was so high that most international businessmen didn’t want to come here. Who is coming to invest in a country where there is insecurity?” he said
