Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State, has sacked
all the permanent secretaries and heads of parastatals in the state civil
service. In a report delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Kingsley Fanwo
today February 15th, Bello said the state Accountant General has been relieved
of his position, while his second in command will proceed on 30 days compulsory
leave. The statement in reads in part.
“I wish to confirm that His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello
has directed that all permanent secretaries, heads of administration are to go
on compulsory leave with immediate effect. The only exemptions to this category
are people on acting capacity and the permanent secretary, government house.
Also, the Accountant General has been relieved of his position, while the
second in command will proceed on 30 days compulsory leave. At the local
government level, the Directors of Local Government (DLGs), treasurers,
education secretaries and cashiers are also to proceed on compulsory leave.”
