Ibori, others to complete jail term in Nigeria as Federal Government sign treaty with UK government on inmate swap


According to reports, Nigerians serving jail terms in the United Kingdom will soon be extradited to Nigeria to complete their prison time as the Federal government and the UK government have purportedly signed a treaty for prison swap.

James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, is anticipated to be part of those that will be deported to complete their jail term in Nigeria. Ibori still has more than six months to stay in prison.
The United Kingdom Minister of Justice, Jeremy Wright, made this declaration amid a visit to the Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazzau (Rtd) yesterday March 2nd, 2016, to finalise the process of inmate swap between the two countries.
