Rivers state: Wike suspends commissioner for works

Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State on Friday, suspended the state Commissioner of works, Mr. Kevin Wachukwu, in a move reminiscent of the suspension of the commissioner of finance,

According to report released by Governor Wike’s Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, the suspension of the Commissioner takes immediate effect.

According to the report, the governor’s Special Adviser on Special Projects is to take the responsibility of supervising projects under the ministry. The Special Adviser was however not named in the report.

It would be recalled the Governor Wike, had months back, suspended the state Commissioner of Finance and the Accountant General of the State without giving any reason for the action.  They were however latter recalled.
