Dr. Temitope Aluko, former
secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, on Tuesday repudiated
settling with the state governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose.
According
to Aluko, was shown in a video with Fayose on Monday purportedly to have settled their
differences, said the purported reconciliation was staged managed and an
organised propaganda to stain his image and malign his integrity.
Aluko
stated this in Lagos on Tuesday, while addressing
newsmen, adding that the purported reconciliation with Fayose was a script
aimed at misinforming Nigerians.
According
to the former PDP scribe, “One fact remains clear, there is nowhere that I,
Temitope Aluko, refuted anything I have earlier said before Nigerians and the
whole world about the manipulations that characterised the 2014 Governorship
election in Ekiti State.
“I was shocked to see
Governor Fayose walked into the meeting at this point. I won’t want to bore you
with the drama and face-off that ensued between me and Governor Fayose inside
the meeting. It is worthy of note that it was at this point that my wife badged
into the meeting to inform me that she noticed the presence of pressmen
downstairs and said ‘there is a problem’ but it was Fayose that interrupted her
and said ‘madam, there is no problem.
“At
that point, I became enraged and decided to leave the place but I notice
Governor Fayose rushing after me downstairs in a Gestapo manner. My wife was
already fidgeting and almost crying and suddenly I could not find her around
me. I immediately realised that I need to oblige to his (Governor Fayose)
instruction of facing the press because of the safety of my family.”
Aluko,
who has been under fire over his purported reconciliation with Fayose, who he
had accused of several things, including being rigged into office, however
appealed to Nigerians to disregard the peace treaty saying it was a tactical
error on his part.
It
would be recalled that Aluko, who testified before the election petition
tribunal in favour öf Governor Fayose that the election that Fayose to office
was free and fair, went on live television to say the contrary, adding
that former President Goodluck Jonathan gave about $37 million to ensure
Fayose defeated the then incumbent Kayode Fayemi.
The
latest about face of Aluko may not be unconnected with the barrage of criticism
that has trailed the emergence of the reconciliation video and the feeling that
the All Progressives Congress APC, may be willing to pursue the perjury
case that is already up against him.
